Few fighters have weathered the storm UFC icon Rich Franklin encountered last night in Brazil and exited the Octagon with a hand raised. However, “Ace” did just that, coming back from the cusp of being out cold to do damage throughout the remaining rounds and earning a decision victory over fellow legend Wanderlei Silva in the process.
Their main event meeting at UFC 147 was rightfully named Fight of the Night after the card’s conclusion, scoring each an extra $65,000 on top of his regularly contracted rate.

Submission of the Night went to Rodrigo Damm, though by default to an extent as he was the only competitor on last night’s lineup to tap his opponent out. He too notched $65,000 for the distinction.
Finally, Marcos Vinicius kept his streak of finishing foes intact by putting away Wagner Campos in the final frame of a fight he was likely losing in the judges’ eyes beforehand. All twenty of Vinicius’ victories have involved some form of stoppage. Similarly to his bonus-winning peers the young Brazilian also brought home an additional $65,000 for turning in Knockout of the Night.
