Miguel Torres Cut From The UFC, Makes Titan FC Debut November 2

After nearly four months of silence on his official website, Miguel Torres (40-5) finally broke the news late last night that he has once again been released by the UFC.

The former WEC Champion, who once stood as the face on the bantamweight division, was cut after a knockout loss to Michael McDonald this passed April at UFC 145. “Angel” leaves the UFC with 2-2 record, which includes wins over Nick Pace and Antonio Banuelos. His first loss inside the octagon came in the shape of a contentious unanimous decision for Demetrious Johnson. The veteran’s release came as a shock to many as a fighter being released 2-2 record is nearly unheard of.

With the past behind him, Torres already looks to the future as he has signed with Titan FC and will be a part of the promotion’s November 2 offering in Hammond, Indiana. The Tristar product continued his announcement by saying, ”I am excited to continue fighting, to regain my focus, and to get back to what made me a champion.” Torres’ ambitions are clear, but as to whether or not he can recapture the glory he once held remains uncertain. It is likely “Angel” will return to the big leagues within a year given the landscape of the bantamweight division outside of the UFC and Bellator banners.
