Several bouts have been added to the UFC on FUEL 8 card in Japan, which happens this February.
After news of the headlining bout between Wanderlei Silva and Brian Stann, and a marquee lightweight bout between Diego Sanchez and Takanori Gomi came, several other bouts have also been made official on the UFC on FUEL 8 card to be held in Japan.
As the UFC continues their Asian expansion, multiple fighters from the last Asian card in UFC: Macau have been re-booked to compete on this Japanese event.
Among the high profile bouts that have been made official, is a welterweight bout between Korean grappling ace, Dong Hyun Kim and knockout artist, Siyar Bahadurzada. Both men are coming off impressive wins over Paulo Thiago, and their contrasting styles should pose for an intriguing match up.
Also re-booked for the promotion's next Asian card are Hyun Gyu Lim vs. Marcelo Guimaraes, and Kyung Ho Kang vs. Alex Caceres. Those are two match ups that were originally scheduled for Macau, until the two top Korean prospects had to pull out of the last minute, and postpone their much awaited UFC debuts.
Japanese stars, Riki Fukuda and Takeya Mizugaki will be facing Brad Tavares and Bryan Caraway respectively, while Kazuki Tokudome will be making his UFC debut against Cristiano Marcello.
Newly signed Tokudome is 11-3 in his MMA career, and is a top contender at Pancrase. He has won 6 of his past 7 bouts, with the only loss coming from Isao Kobayashi, the current lightweight King of Pancrase. If you're wondering why the UFC didn't sign Kobayashi instead, word from Japan is that the 24-year-old prospect was the first one offered a UFC contract, but he decided to turn it down.
Here's the current fight card so far:
