Philip De Fries Talks Submission Win at ‘UFC on FOX 4′ (Video)

Philip De Fries (Pictured) bounced back from the only defeat on his 9-1 (1 NC) résumé in impressive fashion on Saturday.

The heavyweight’s 2ndRound rear-naked choke of Oli Thompson was the first submission in last night’s card. Unfortunately for the Brit, there was plenty more where that came from and he was ultimately topped by Joe Lauzon’s triangle choke over Jamie Varner to lose out on ‘Submission of the Night’ honors and the $50,000 bonus check that came with the award.

Regardless, De Fries couldn’t have been happier about his performance. He talked to us about the need to avoid a two-fight skid, hearing the boos rain down from inside the arena just before his finish and more.

UFC on FOX 4 took place in Staples Center in Los Angeles.
