Brazilian publication Globo.com first reported the matchup.
The 27-year-old Mendes has won 12 of his 13 career fights, the sole loss at the hands of Aldo at UFC 142. He was in the news for something different this summer, as he was allegedly involved in a bar fight that has brought charges against him in his home town in California.
Dias made his UFC debut in June at the last event in Brazil, defeating Yuri Alcantara by decision for his ninth straight win. The 28-year-old holds a 21-1-1 record overall.
UFC on FX 6 will take place from the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia, headlined by a lightweight bout between Ross Pearson and George Sotiropoulos.
Penick's Analysis: This is a very solid featherweight matchup, and a great test for Dias and his nine-fight winning streak. Mendes' bout with McKenzie was a definite step down from Aldo, but he's moving back up in competition against Dias. This should be a competitive and entertaining fight, and it's a great matchup for the FX card in Australia.
