Lineup for UFC 152 gets green-light after fighters make weight

UFC 152 weigh-ins took place today at the Air Canada Centere in Toronto, Canada. All fighters made weight with the exception of Charles Oliveira for tomorrow night ‘s card meaning all bouts will take place as scheduled as the UFC looks to put the cancellation of UFC 151 behind them.

In the main event, defending light heavyweight champion Jon Jones (16-1) will look to defend his light heavyweight title against Vitor Belfort (21-9.) The champ told the crowd at the weigh-ins, “I believe Vitor is one of the best in the world, and I am excited to go out and do my best and do what I always do. Belfort said “I have been fighting for a very long time. This fight is between a young lion and an old lion, and it will be a jungle in the Octagon.”

In the co-main event Joseph Benavidez (16-2) and Demetrious Johnson (15-2-1) will vie for the inaugural UFC flyweight title. After making weight, Benavidez announced, “I worked hard for this. This is amazing. I can’t wait to give you a fight to remember, and me and DJ are going to  bring out the best in each other.” Johnson told the crowd, “Me and Joseph are going to show you why the UFC flyweight division is here to stay, and we are both looking forward to putting on a great fight.”
