Knee injury forces Forrest Griffin out of UFC 155

The injury bug strikes again. Forrest Griffin has suffered a knee injury which has forced him out of his scheduled light heavyweight bout against Phil Davis at UFC 155.

UFC President Dana White tweeted the bad news on Wednesday, “Forrest Has MCL tear and ACL strain. 20 cc’s of blood removed from his knee and the saga continues at the UFC!!”

The bout was scheduled as the co-main event of UFC 155 which takes place from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on December 29th. There has been no word on a possible replacement opponent for Davis.

UFC 155 will be headlined by heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos defending his title against Cain Velasquez.
