What was supposed to be Ultimate Fighter winner Michael Chiesas homecoming has instead turned into an unfortunate withdraw from UFC on Fox 5.
The champion from last season on the reality show has been forced out of his scheduled bout against Marcus Levesseur due to illness.
UFC officials announced the unfortunate news late Sunday evening.
Chiesas illness comes just days after heavyweight Lavar Johnson was also forced off the card with a pulled groin.
Unless UFC officials find a new opponent for Levesseur in the next couple of days, that will bring the UFC on Fox 5 card down to 11 fights in total with four bouts scheduled for the Fox broadcast, 4 on FX for the prelims and 2 to air on Facebook.
Theres been no word on which fight could potentially replace Chiesa vs. Levesseur on the FX portion of the show seeing it was the featured bout on the card after Lavar Johnson vs. Brendan Schaub was cancelled a few days ago.
