It’s been more than six months since UFC welterweight champ Georges St-Pierre could move around at full speed after tearing his ACL in late 2011 and undergoing surgery to repair the damage. However, “Rush” avoided taking after his nickname and rehabbed his leg the right way. The results have apparently paid off in full with St-Pierre recently announcing his return to form including an upcoming visit to famed trainer Freddie Roach’s gym in Los Angeles.
Roach Thinks Anderson Silva is MMA’s Best Boxer
“He will be working a bit of boxing and moving around,” said Roach in an interview with FightHub TV. “I know he has been moving around, been kicking a bit. Nothing too forceful.”
St-Pierre has worked with Roach in the past before, attempting to soak up some of the same information drawing boxing greats like Manny Pacquiao to Roach’s stomping ground. GSP’s next fight is linked to a November date in Montreal where he’ll face interim champ Carlos Condit to unify the divisional straps.
