Michael Bisping Told He Gets Anderson Silva With Convincing Win Over Brian Stann

According to middleweight Michael Bisping (Pictured), Octagon officials informed him that he can punch his top contender ticket by posting a convincing win over Brian Stann a UFC 152.

“I’ve been told if I beat [Stann], and beat him well, I’ll get a title shot,” Bisping told ESPN.com. “But I haven’t gotten it in writing, so it probably doesn’t mean anything.”

Bisping’s spot on the 185-pound totem pole was strengthened after Hector Lombard’s hype train got derailed this past Saturday at UFC 149. Chris Weidman, the other most logical choice to get next dibs, submitted his application for a crack at Anderson Silva’s crown by steamrolling Mark Munoz earlier this month.

Speaking of “The Spider,” despite his invincible aura and impeccable UFC résumé, Bisping see holes in the G.O.A.T.’s game that he believes he’ll be able to exploit.

“Every time I watch him fight, I think he always looks mortal – if you will,” Bisping said of Silva. “He always looks beatable. That’s the good thing about a champion, they find a way to win. Regardless of how bad the fight goes, how it ends is the important thing.

“Anderson always comes out the winner. My hat is off to him, but I see holes in his game.”

Bisping and Stann co-headline UFC 152 on September 22nd.
