Always keeping fans on their toes, the UFC’s recent confirmation that a lightweight bout between Thiago Tavares and Dennis Hallman was moved back to UFC 150 (after originally being moved off the card to UFC 151) seems to have been second guessed by the promotion. Tavares and Hallman will not be facing off at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado on August 11 as promotional newcomer Chico Camus will meet Dustin Pague in a bantamweight tilt.
Camus (11-3) makes his UFC debut holding a record of 4-1 in his last five fights. “King” is currently on a three-fight win-streak on the regional circuit. While Camus’ recent run all come in the form of decision victories, the vast majority of his wins have come by stoppage.
Pague (11-6) will be stepping into the octagon for the third time in a little over two months. The TUF veteran is likely fighting for his place in the UFC with a current 1-2 run in the promotion. After a quick submission victory over Jared Papazian last month at UFC on FX 3, the Virginian would meet Ken Stone in just two week’s time, coming up on the short end of a unanimous decision.
