Might be the wrong forum but this is mostly because of UFC 152 so hopefully this doesn't get moved.
In Boxing the lighter weight classes has obviously been accepted, and in September Benavidez/Johnson will headline UFC 152, now Michael Bisping has already gone and said his fight with Brian Stann is the "real main event" because no one wants to see Flyweights.
I know a lot of fans also feel this way, and I don't quite get it, I got into MMA before Boxing where the lighter weight classes are more received but in MMA I see a large chunk of fans degrading them. It leaves me to ask, why are fans so against lighter weights(145, 135, and 125) headlining shows like this? Personally, I'd be willing to bet you anything Benavidez/Johnson will be a hell of a lot more exciting than Kongo/Jordan or Browne/Broughton.
