Invicta FC 2 Results: McMann remains unbeaten, submissions reign supreme

Many of MMA’s top female fighters were in Kansas City tonight for Invicta FC’s second offering and to the delight of many put together an excellent event from start to finish (minus a few technical issues at the start). With Invicta FC 2, the promotion built on the success of their first show with a card featuring unbeaten Olympian Sara McMann taking on crafty submission-specialist Shayna Baszler and peppered with veteran competitors.

McMann got the toughest test of her career as expected against Baszler, getting all she could handle on the grappling front and some stand-up to boot. However, in the end it was the silver medalist who rose to the occasion and pulled out a Unanimous Decision win to maintain her perfect record at 6-0.

Other notable fighters scheduled to scrap on tonight’s lineup included Alexis Davis-Hitomi Akano and Liz Carmouche-Kaitlin Young, plus the lineup featured from Amanda Nunes, Julia Budd, and Carla Esparza.

As a whole, the show was full of finishes including a number of submissions including those from Carmouche and Davis who both locked in Rear-Naked Chokes to seal the deal.
