“Rampage” Jackson scheduled to rumble with Glover Teixeira in October

Quinton Jackson has been at odds with his employers at the UFC for the past few months, citing a lack of respect from the organization. However, as trying as the situation may have been it will be hard to match the hostile environment Jackson is sure to face this October 13 when he faces Brazilian Glover Teixeira at UFC 153 in Rio de Janeiro.

The bout is expected to be the final UFC appearance for “Rampage” who will fulfill his contract with the fight. No other match-ups have been attached to the lineup.

Jackson Just Wants to Move Forward in his Career

SporTV was first to report the rumble.

Teixeira is one of the UFC’s newest stars, debuting in highlight-reel fashion against Kyle Kingsbury to earn his sixteenth straight victory. The 32-year old holds an overall record of 18-2 with sixteen stoppages and past wins over Ricco Rodriguez, Rameau Theirry Sokoudjou, and Matt Horwich.

The 32-10 Jackson is one of MMA’s legitimate icons after his run overseas in PRIDE and success in the UFC. Among his numerous notable victories are instances of success against Wanderlei Silva, Chuck Liddell, and Lyoto Machida.
