‘UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II’ Medical Suspensions Issued

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has medically suspended half of the athletes who competed in “UFC 148: Silva vs. Sonnen II.” In total, 11 competitors will be forced to ride the pine for various injures sustained during this past Saturday’s scraps.

Forrest Griffin (Pictured), Chael Sonnen and Cung Le are among the notable fighters to receive bans.

MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas hosted this weekend’s festivities.

Here is the card’s official IR list:

Chael Sonnen: Suspended until 8/7, with no contact until 7/29 for nasal laceration

Forrest Griffin: Suspended until 8/22 with no contact until 8/12 for possible jaw injury. Must also have CT scan of jaw and be cleared by doctor, otherwise will be out until 10/6

Cung Le: Suspended until 8/7, with no contact until 7/29 for left eye laceration. Must also have x-ray of right knee and right foot, otherwise will be out until 10/6

Patrick Cote: Suspended until 8/7, with no contact until 7/29 for scalp laceration

Dong Hyun Kim: Suspended until 8/22, with no contact until 8/7

Cody McKenzie: Suspended until 8/22, with no contact until 8/7

Ivan Menjivar: Must have x-ray or MRI of left knee, otherwise out until 10/6

Fabricio Camoes: Suspended until 8/7, with no contact until 7/29

Gleison Tibau: Suspended until 8/7, with no contact until 7/29 for right eye laceration

Constantinos Philippou: Suspended until 8/7, with no contact until 7/30. Must also have left eye cleared by ophthalmologist, otherwise out until 10/6

Rafaello Oliveira: Suspended until Aug. 7 with no contact until July 29 for scalp laceration
