Heavyweight Andrei Arlovski fought earlier this month, stopping opponent Devin Cole with strikes in the opening round of their tilt. Rather than bask in his success and relax over the rest of the year, it looks like “The Pitbull” has opted to stay busy.
According to a Tweet from the former UFC champion, he will face Mike Hayes on December 16 in Moscow. The bout is set to headline Fight Nights: Battle of Moscow 9, though it is currently unknown if the show will be made available for fans globally via streaming or PPV means (if at all).
No other bouts have been attached to the event.
Arlovski is unbeaten since falling to Sergei Kharitonov more than 18 months ago, racking up a trio of victories in addition to a No Contest against Tim Sylvia that arguably should have been ruled a TKO win. He holds an overall record of 18-9 with fourteen knockouts under his belt and has found past success against Ben Rothwell, Roy Nelson, and Fabricio Werdum.
Hayes has been a journeyman for the bulk of his career, making brief stops in both Strikeforce and Bellator. The 18-5-1 Hayes recently had a six-fight winning streak laid to waste with a decision loss last July and hasn’t competed since the stumble.
