Fans got some scary news last week when word surfaced stating UFC featherweight Eddie Yagin had been rushed to the hospital after a training session due to a head injury. It was later discovered Yagin’s brain was suffering some swelling based on a blow he absorbed while preparing for a December scrap with Dennis Siver, causing obvious concern about his well-being.
An update has since been issued on Yagin’s condition and, fortunately, it was of the positive variety.
“Eddie has been released from the hospital. Basically he is on bed rest until his head fully heads,” explained Yagin’s manager (Jason House) in a conversation with Fighters.com, also adding the expectation was that his client would be back to 100% by the new year.
The 16-5-1 Yagin has split his two tilts inside the Octagon, most recently scoring a memorable Split Decision win in an all-out war with Mark Hominick this past April.
