Last Friday, the Ultimate Fighting Championships kicked-off Season 16 of their hit reality series – The Ultimate Fighter. The two hour premiere episode featured a several exciting finishes during the 16 elimination bouts. However, the fight between Colton Smith and Jesse Barrett received the biggest reaction from fans; not by the way it finished but by how it started.
Smith and Barrett apparently agreed to traditional glove touch to start the bout but Smith faked the touch then shot for an immediate takedown. The move didn’t sit well with coach Roy Nelson who commented “what a douche” during the bout (0:39 of the video). This won’t be the last that we hear about the glove touch. How long do you think we go before a fighter brings it up inside the TUF house? My guess is this week…
