Igor Pokrajac stepping in to face Joey Beltran at UFC on FX 6

Anyone bummed out by UFC light heavyweight Anthony Perosh’s recent withdrawal from UFC on FX 6 with a nasty broken toe will be happy to know he’s been replaced by a man sure to assist in delivering a memorable match-up come showtime on December 14. According to the UFC, Perosh’s replacement against Joey Beltran will be Igor Pokrajac, a striker like Beltran who has a propensity of leaving his opponents looking up at the arena lights.

The 25-9 Pokrajac had a three-fight winning streak snapped in September when BJJ expert Vinny Magalhaes locked him in an Armbar at UFC 152. Thirteen of his victories have involved a TKO with another eight by way of submission.

Meanwhile, Beltran is in a “must win” situation after dropping his last fight to James Te Huna. The fan-favorite is a brawler by trade, earning 11 of his 14 instances of success with a strike-based stoppage.

UFC on FX 6 is scheduled to take place in Queensland, Australia with bouts including Mike Pierce-Seth Baczynski, Chad Mendes-Hacran Dias, Rousimar Palhares-Hector Lombard, and George Sotiropoulos-Ross Pearson.
