Antonio Rodrigo Minotauro Nogueira in an interview with TATAME.
Nogueira comments on Chael Sonnen and does not agree with Sonnens methods of self promotion. Nogueira states that Sonnen is a tough fighter but thinks Sonnen talks so much to compensate for his boring style.
The guys disrespectful. The way he advertises himself is a wrong way of advertising, its disrespectful, says Nogueira, criticizing the wrestlers performance inside the cage. He does those warm fights. Hes a tough fighter, a super athlete, but his kind of fight doesnt sell, doesnt convince, hes not a dangerous striker nor a submitter. Where he gets his popularity from? Talking.
Hes a guy who says bad things about countries, the athlete, Andersons wife, the way he dresses He gets into things that does not matter
If he said he was going to beat Anderson and explained how I guess it was ok, but he gets into personal stuff and thats a mistake. Anderson did good on responding to him.
Nogueira also comments on Andersons training camp for the rematch with Sonnen and warns that this may be the most dangerous Anderson Silva that has ever set foot in the cage.
Ive never seen Anderson like that. Hes throwing amazing kicks and punches, hes got an amazing ground game and he has effective takedown defense. I watched his last couple of trainings and hes prepared. Sonnen will have to hand in there because he really wants it and hes ready for it.
Nogueira comments on Sonnen bringing in Vinny Magalhães to work with him on his Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the UFC 148 rematch with Silva.
Hes gotta try (laughs), jokes Minotauro. Pexao is a very good Jiu-Jitsu guy and has got to improve his triangles. He was submitted by Demian, Sobral, Paulo, Anderson, Jeremy Horn I guess he says bad things about Jiu-Jitsu and Brazil because of that: hes traumatized by Brazilians ground game.
Jokes aside Nogueira states that Sonnen is strong on the ground however does not think this will matter and predicts that Anderson will knock him out.
Hes good on the ground, knows who to defend himself and Jiu-Jitsu. He trains with Brazilians. How did he learn that? Was he born with natural Jiu-Jitsu skills? He says bad things about Brazil and Jiu-Jitsu but trains it, assures. He wants to improve his flaws but it wont happen this time. I guess theres a knockout to come this time.
