Brian Stann sets sights on testing Michael Bisping’s chin at UFC 152

UFC middleweight Brian Stann has always been a company man, stepping up to fight any opponent the organization threw his way. However, in the case of his upcoming match with Michael Bisping, the 12-4 Stann found himself even more motivated than normal based on the resume the Brit brings with him to the Octagon.

Bisping is a former Ultimate Fighter winner who has been a presence in the Top 10 for years and scored a number of impressive wins en route to a 22-4 overall record. He’s also been linked to a possible crack at divisional champion Anderson Silva if he can beat Stann impressively.

While Bisping’s credentials might intimidate some competitors, the decorated Marine isn’t one of them.

“To get the call that this was the fight that I was gonna get – a guy who is ranked higher, who is one of the biggest stars in the UFC, who is on the cusp of a title-shot – that’s a situation I’m always looking for. I want to the fight the best guys,” said Stann in an interview with the UFC. “I don’t think there’s an opponent out there that would have gotten me more excited to fight him. He’s a guy who settles into the fight quickly and he executes his gameplan well. I absolutely want to test his chin.”

“Everybody I fight, anybody who has stood with me…the fight doesn’t last long,” he concluded.
