UFC middleweight Michael Bisping knows how different his life would have been had the judges in his January fight with Chael Sonnen seen the action as a large portion of the viewing public did. Despite it seeming as though he’d done enough to get their nod, the brash Brit ultimately ended up on the wrong end of the officials’ decision and dealt with a title-shot going out the window as a result.
When he faces Brian Stann in a few weeks at UFC 152, “The Count” has no interest in risking the same outcome again and will be out for blood as soon as the cage door closes.
“Brian Stann is going to get his arse kicked on September 22 at UFC 152 in Toronto,” wrote Bisping in a blog for Yahoo Sports. “I think I’m half a step-up in all the key skills: striking, submissions and wrestling. This is my fight to lose – he can’t win the fight unless I make a mistake and give him a chance to. And being so close to a title shot, I’m not going to make mistakes. I’m taking this guy out.”
Stann Wants to Test Bisping’s Chin
Bisping holds an overall record of 22-4 including eighteen wins featuring some sort of finish. In addition to costing him a crack at the championship, Bisping’s stumble against Sonnen also snapped a four-fight winning streak for the Ultimate Fighter 3 champion.
