A middleweight bout between Patrick Côté and Alessio Sakara has been added to UFC 154 in Montreal, Quebec. UFC officials announced the bout earlier today.
Côté saw his four-fight winning streak halted by Cung Le in a hard fought decision at UFC 148. The Québécois fighter will be looking for his first win in the UFC since defeating Ricardo Almeida at UFC 86 in 2008. Côté lost his next three UFC bouts, leading to the end of his first stint in the UFC. Before losing to Le at UFC 148, on short notice, “The Predator” had won four bouts outside the promotion.
Alessio Sakara has fought in the UFC since 2005, amassing a 6-6-1 record in the promotion. Sakara has dropped his last two fights to middleweight contenders Brian Stann and Chris Weidman. The Italian fighter has never lost more than two fights in a row in his MMA career.
UFC 154 takes place November 17 in Montreal, Quebec. The headlining bout will be a UFC welterweight title unification bout between champion Georges St-Pierre and interim champion Carlos Condit. The card will take place at the Bell Centre.
