We're getting closer and closer to Nick Diaz's suspension coming up and he'll be able to return to the Octagon soon enough. His trainer, Cesar Gracie, talks about said pending return and maintains that Nick still wants that Georges St. Pierre fight. Cesar Gracie talks to Fight Hub about the pending return of Nick Diaz to the UFC. "It all depends on the courts right now. He could come back fairly soon, hopefully. Worst case scenario, we're looking at the first quarter of 2013. He's ready to fight. I think everyone knows who he wants to fight, he wants GSP. If something happens, Nick can jump right in. But yeah, Nick's a fighter, he'll fight anybody. "He's been doing great. He stays in shape. Being a martial artist, you know a lot of guys they just focus on getting ready for a fight, getting in shape to get ready for a fight but they're not training or they're not really living a healthy lifestyle when they don't have a fight coming up. Nick is one of those guys who is a true martial artist. He's constantly training. He wants to learn all the time. If he couldn't fight tomorrow, he'd still be a martial artist. A lot of these guys are in it for the glory or just the money or something like that but Nick's in it for being it and that's a refreshing thing to have." Georges St. Pierre is set to fight Carlos Condit at UFC 154 on Nov. 17 in Montreal and even if he wins, the promotion may be hoping to put together a St. Pierre vs. Anderson Silva super-fight at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Texas next year. That leaves Diaz needing an opponent for his return. So who should it be? |
